Happy New Year

What a wonderful year 2010 was.. its almost hard to watch it go... it brought us our wonderful Charlee!! She is a wonderful addition to our family and helped us celebrate tonight with games and pizza... Charlee is such a happy baby and smiles almost anytime you look at her... she is almost always smiling!!

We know that 2011 won't hold a candle to 2010 but here's to hoping it filled with a lot of laughter and love!!

She giggles!!!

Last night Jake was tickling Charlee under her chin and she started to giggle...It was the cutest sound, I had forgotten how a baby's giggle can melt your heart!!

First Christmas

Charlee had a great first Christmas. Christmas eve we spent time as a family hanging out, and then in the evening we went to church. Charlee was really good through church. Christmas eve Charlee went to bed right on time, she must have been excited to see have Santa come.

Christmas morning Charlee was up to open presents and loved everything that she got. She has worn the clothes and looks forward to playing with the toys very soon. She got a swing to put on the swing set from Santa and she can't wait for the snow to melt and to spend time in the swing, playing with the big girls.

Charlee had a great Christmas and we look forward to many many more when she can be a little bit more involved and stay awake to open presents:)

2 months old

I know this is a little late but better late then never and I will use the holidays as my excuse!! Charlee is over two months old now but she is growing and changing every day!! She now knows what her hands are and is pretty good at getting them to go right where she wants them to go. She is making more and more sounds every day. I also think that a couple of time I have heard a little bit of a giggle. She is still eating about every 2 to 3 hours during the day. We have made a lot of progress on her sleeping. She normally goes to bed about 8:30 and about half of the time she sleeps through the night. When she does wake up in the night she eats and goes back to bed very easily. She loves to watch her sister and smiles when Zoe comes around. She loves to be talked to but would preffer to not be snuggled all that much most of the time. She has had a little bit of congestion this last week, but she has been a real trooper and she doesn't let it bother her to much. She is also getting really good at holding up her head, as you can see in the pictures. She still hasn't rolled over again, but she does like to roll onto her side from her back from time to time. She loves to sit in her seat and watch everyone as well as playing under her activity gym on her back. She still likes to take naps in her swing and also doesn't mind sitting in her swing to watch the world go by. Charlee is a wonderful baby and really does make our family complete. We love her so much and can't believe how much she is changing and growing every day!!

2 month check up

We took Charlee for her two month check up and its official... she is a great baby!! She weighs 12 pounds and when the nurse was weighing her and said that she weighed 12 pounds Charlee gave a smile like "yeah I know I am doing a GOOD job" it was very very cute!!

Charlee is doing great!! she is starting to play with her hands a lot more and has a funny little way of holding her arm to make sure that her pacifier stays in her mouth. Very cute!!

Aunt Sue is here from Colorado for Christmas so Charlee and Sue have spent some time together. We are so blessed to have such great family in our lives.

And of course I don't have to tell you... she was a HUGE hit. She has been at Chris and Jeff's three days this week and every time I go to pick her up or call to see how she is doing Chris or Jeff is snuggling her. Love that they love her as much as we do, honestly its pretty hard to not love her... she is wonderful. So sweet.

Last night she woke up at 4 to eat, but she wasn't really crying just awake, talking and every once and awhile letting out a yell to let you know that she needed some thing. She makes it hard to put her back in bed and get some sleep myself.

Tonight is my work Christmas party so Charlee will get to meet the "famous" (In Z's eye's)  Kelsey Burke since she is babysitting the girls tonight. Z is beyond excited, I don't know if Charlee has much of an opinion on it:)

They Finally meet

This weekend Charlee finally got to meet these two people we talk so much about.. Uncle Dan and Aunt Ali. She thinks they meet all of her expectations and almost everything she has heard about them is true:)

We had a great weekend. Friday we went to the airport and surprised Dan and Ali when they landed it was very fun. Saturday we spent most of the day with friends, it was a great day and of course Charlee was a little spoiled with all of the extra snuggling. She also loves to watch the older girls run around.. in just alittle while we will be watching her trying to keep up:) Sunday we braved the weather and headed to Mimi's for Christmas with Dan and Ali. It was great to see them and really nice to spend some time just hanging out with them.

Today Z had a late start so it was a girl morning, which of course means a princess movie, Charlee also loves watching those:) We spent the afternoon snuggling. Then this evening we took all of Charlee's stuff over to Chris and Jeff's house. Charlee will start at Chris and Jeff's on Wednesday she will be there off and on until the first of the year and then will start full time.

Long winters nap

Charlee did it again last night she slept from about 9 PM to 6 AM. She is starting to get the hang of this whole night and day thing:)

Big weekend ahead for Charlee she gets to meet her Uncle Dan and Aunt Ali for the first time.. she is beyond excited!

I forgot to note yesterday that Charlee slept through the night on Monday night. Last night she was up about 3:30 to eat but we were both back asleep by 4 so not to shabby!!


She is doing great, starting to smile and reveal more and more of her little personality to us each day. We are having a ball!

Busy morning of Christmas shopping...

Will wear this little elf out!! We had a busy morning of Christmas shopping and now Charlee is taking a long winters nap:)

I know the outfit looks a little small, she is just growing to fast, it fit a week ago when I got it for her:)

I haven't gotten a picture yet because every time she does it I don't think to get the camera I just think to snuggle her!!

Charlee is smiling and not only when she has gas. She has a little grin that melts this mama's heart.

She also had a great night of sleeping last night, she went to bed about 9 and slept until 5, then back to bed and we had to wake her up at 9... we thought 12 hours of sleep was plenty!

Great Thanksgiving!

Charlee had a great first thanksgivng!! We watched the parade and then celebrated with a big dinner at Mimi and Grandpa's.

Today we went out for pancakes, did a little black Friday shopping and cut down our Christmas tree and decorated the house for Christmas.

Charlee is doing GREAT!! On Thursday night she slept from 8:30 to 4:45. This week we have really been working on getting her to bed before 9, so that she will be ready to wake up around 7. So far its going pretty good.

Charlee is also doing a REALLY good job of holding her head up and looking around. She is loving all of the Christmas lights and enjoyed watching us decorate the tree today.

Can you believe it???

Charlee is already a month old!! She had a great day today. It started out with her sleeping in her own bed last night, she did a great job!!


Then this morning she got to snuggle with Mimi for awhile and then this afternoon she had a play date with her sister, Marlee, Maddie and Olivia. Charlee took advantage of lots of snuggling.

Tonight we are just hanging out at home. Charlee has the hicups right now, which is a very common occurance.

Right now Charlee is eating about 3 ounces at a time and during the day eating about every two hours. She is much more awake in the morning and the afternoons seem to be her lazy time. She does a good job of staying awake in the evening and has had a couple of nights where she has slept from about 11 to 5.  She is a GREAT baby!! So much fun!

GROWTH spurt!!

Charlee is going through a major growth that includes eating about 4 ounces every two hours and not really sleeping. At the rate she is going she is going to be 20 pounds at her two month check up:)

Other then the major growing going on, all is going really well!!

Hello!!

We had a great weekend. Charlee is doing great. She had a busy weekend of watching her big sister go to her first dance class, and then headed to Mimi and Grandpa's and also got a visit from Papa John and Mary.

On Sunday we went to church, so far Charlee isn't a fan of church, I don't think I have listened to a sermon since she was born, she just doesn't want to sit and listen yet:) Then we played with Livi and Will Primrose and had a great Sunday.

Charlee is doing great, growing and wiggling and learning every day! What a blessing!!

We are doing well! Charlee is growing like a weed, which is good and just want she should be doing!!

And again...

Charlee rolled over again today. She isn't mad when she does she just does it and then is so happy to be on her back. This little lady is going to keep me on my toes, love it!!

little mile stones

Today we had a couple of small milestones that I don't want to forget about so I thought I would write about them here, really more so for me that anyone else. Thanks for listening:)

Today Charlee's cord fell off, for a split second it made me sad. It like its the first step of her not being an infant any more and it seems like just yesterday that she was born. I now understand how fast they grow up and it makes me sad to think she is already growing up. Charlee is two weeks old today.

Also today while we were doing our "exercises" that's what big sister Zoe calls tummy time and of course she has "exercises" from tumbling that her and I need to do, Charlee rolled over. It was a very calm controlled roll unlike last time she did it when she was just mad.

We had a great day. Jake went back to work today and Zoe went to day care in the morning and then in the afternoon it was just us girls!! Very fun!!

The Girls

Tonight we spent some time snuggling!! One of my favorite things to do!! So lucky that these two little girls are so SWEET!!

Doing great!!

So we had our first crazy parent moment last night and then again this morning and decided to take Charlee to the doctor. We thought her breathing seemed shallow at times and she was doing this strange gasping thing that she hadn't been doing before. So we took her into the doctor this morning and she is doing great!! The breathing thing is totally normally and we are crazy parents:)  She is three days shy of two weeks old and about an two ounces short of her birth weight, so that is great. The last two nights she has slept from about 9:30 to 5, which is also great. She is a great eater, and sleeper and also tolerant of all of the  Zoey shenanigans:)

She loves to sit her swing and watch all of the action. She doesn't so much like to be wrapped up in blankets. Jake did catch her sucking her thumb the other day, but typically she loves her pacifier.

We have been so blessed with another angel in our lives!!

First Halloween

Tonight was our first Halloween!!  Charlee was a trooper but stayed home with Mimi and Grandpa Mike while big sister Zoey went and collected candy!  We had a great weekend, and Charlee was even able to sleep 6 straight hours last night!!!  Hopefully we will continue to repeat that!!!  Anyways, a great day and great weekend.  We have our 2 week check up on Wednesday so we will for sure get something posted again after that.  Here are a few photos from this weekend.

She's here!!!

Wednesday October 20th, at 8:33 Charlotte "Charlee" Anne Austin was born at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Charlee was 9 pounds 1 ounce and was 21 inches long. She Took about 12 hours to come, I was induced about 8:30 AM. Charlotte was born healthy and happy!!

We spent three days in the hospital where Charlotte passed all of her test and we able to come home on Friday morning. When we came home we spent a little time getting adjusted and then Papa John, Mary, Mimi and Zoe came. It was great to have everyone here. Papa John and Mary left to have dinner and then Grandpa Mike came up and we ate dinner at home.

After Mimi and Grandpa Mike left,  it was bath time!! Zoe was a great help with Charlotte and then it was her turn. It was great to have all four Austins happy and home together.

Saturday was  a very lazy day. Jake and I were some what tired as Charlotte of course had been up several times through out the night. We just hung out at home most of the day and had company in the evening. It was a great Saturday!!

Sunday morning we tried to go to the 9 AM church service and of course we under calculated the time it would take to get to church. So we ended up taking two cars:) Sunday afternoon we headed to Vinton for Great Grandparents to meet Charlotte.

Monday we had company, everyone wants to see Charlee!! Tuesday we headed to the new born assesment clinic at the hospital to find out how Charlee was doing. She got a clean bill of health!!

It has been a great first week of Charlee's life. We are very blessed to have her!! The weather looks like it should be pretty nice for Halloween, I am sure both girls will have a great Halloween.
